Welcome to my world of doing the work to live well, for life. 

In January 2023, I turned 50. In the five+ years leading up to this birthday, I found myself hammered by perimenopausal symptoms that had a serious impact on my digestive health. Read the details here. As I began my fruitless attempt to get help via mainstream medicine in the USA, it became very clear that I was going to have to do my own research and find my own solutions. Hello Healthspan is the result of this journey: years of reading, thinking and making an array of changes in service of feeling well as I head into the second half of my life. As I launch the blog, I'm focused on food because the fastest way to make big changes to your health is to change the way you eat.
